The support available in Wales offers Creative Industries companies the opportunity to work with highly skilled workforce, the following Skills and Training is available here in Wales:
- Skillset Cymru and Creative and Cultural Skills are the sector skills councils collaborating with the Welsh Assembly Government to deliver the training agenda for the creative industries. www.skillset.org/uk/cymru / www.ccskills.org.uk
- Cyfle is the main training organisation for the film, television and interactive media industries in Wales. www.cyfle.co.uk
- Insight Out – a training and development programme for budding interactive media entrepreneurs in Wales. The programme has been created by NESTA and is run in collaboration with Creative Business Wales. www.nesta.org.uk/insight-out
- 'DIGITAL SHORTS WALES' Launch - It's My Shout Productions has teamed up with the Film Agency for Wales and the UK Film Council's New Cinema Fund, to offer an opportunity to established directing and writing talent living and working in Wales, who want to make a compelling short film as a next step in their film career.
The scheme, branded 'Digital Shorts Wales' will be the premier vehicle for digital short film production in Wales, as this is NOT an industry entry-level scheme, it is aimed at established Welsh film-making talent, providing an intensive bespoke development process - targeting both script and the successful candidates’ individual skill-sets - to develop a new generation of Welsh filmmakers.
For delivery in 2010, Digital Short Wales will produce a slate of up to 5 digital short films which can be anything between 5 mins and 12 mins in length (15 in exceptional circumstances, with production budgets of between 7k-13k.
