Trade Mission to Ottawa & DEFSEC, Canada 5-10 September 2010
Making top level Canadian connections
Recognised as the premier trade exhibition for the aerospace, defence and security industries in Eastern Canada, DEFSEC Atlantic brings together hundreds of key industry suppliers, senior government representatives, major prime contractors and procurement officials.
For 2010, the Canadian Defence Security and AEROSPACE Exhibition Atlantic exhibition is being held in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and emerging challenges and industry opportunities in the space field mean that NASA, the Canadian Space Agency and the European Space Agency are taking part.
Following on previous successful keynote and panel presentations on Arctic Sovereignty, DEFSEC will be focusing on Space Surveillance and its potential for enhancing security, environmental study and regulation enforcement on land and sea. Also being discussed will be procurement policies and plans for the Canadian Forces.
A major development for this important annual event is the increased participation of overseas companies, notably from the UK, aimed at sparking partnership opportunities with Canadian companies. The trade mission also encompasses the Canadian capital Ottawa, which is also renowned as ‘Silicon Valley North’ because of its ITC cluster strengths. This part of the mission too is aimed at bringing Canadian and Welsh companies into contact to explore collaborative and trading opportunities across a wide spectrum of sectors.
This trade mission represents a superb opportunity for Welsh companies to make direct contact with key decision makers and influencers in a number of important sectors, within a strong economy that already has a strong affinity with the UK and a trust in the integrity and quality of its products and services.
